Renowned Actor Gérard Depardieu Faces New Allegations from French Actress Hélène Darras in Connection with 2007 Incident

A second woman in recent times has accused Gérard Depardieu of sexual assault in connection with an incident that occurred in 2007 during the filming of the series “Disco.”

French actress Hélène Darras filed a complaint with the Paris prosecutor’s office on September 10, accusing him of harassment during the shoot.

Depardieu, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Jean-Paul Rappeneau’s “Cyrano de Bergerac” and became popular not only in his homeland but also in Hollywood, had previously denied any allegations in an open letter.

This included an accusation made by another woman in 2018, who accused him of rape, and that case is currently in court after calls for its reinstatement in 2021.

Darras’s new claim relates to an incident when she was 26 years old and appeared in a small role in “Disco” alongside the almost 60-year-old Depardieu.

The assault was first reported in a new documentary that compiles all the accusations against the 74-year-old man.

In the documentary, Darras alleges:

“He was uncontrollable. He looked at me as if I were a piece of meat. I was wearing a very tight dress. He approached me, and then ran his hand over my thighs and buttocks.”

Her fear of being blacklisted prevented her from speaking out earlier. This incident affected Darras, shattering her confidence and the life she now hopes to rebuild.

For many years, Gérard has faced numerous accusations: about 13 women have claimed attempted rape.
