The New Year Is Already Full of Surprises!
Next year marks the 25th anniversary of Britney Spears’ debut album, and it seems the pop icon is planning to celebrate the occasion with the release of a new project. This will be her first in eight years.
The preparation process for the album is being kept under strict secrecy. However, sources from The Sun report that Britney has enlisted the help of British pop star Charli XCX to write songs for the project.
The two artists haven’t met in person yet, but Spears has already communicated to Charli what she envisions for the new music. An insider revealed, “Behind the scenes, work has been underway for quite some time to put together a series of killer songs.”
Britney is hopeful that collaborating with Charli will help her make a comeback on the charts after a long hiatus. The expectations for the new album are high, given that Spears is still recognized as one of the brightest stars of the early 21st century.
Charli has a wealth of experience in music creation, with her own hits consistently making it into the top 10 of various charts. Importantly, she is also known as a strong songwriter, with her songs being performed by artists such as Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani, Raye, Blondie, as well as Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. Their 2019 track “Senorita” topped the charts for six weeks.
It’s worth noting that Britney’s post-conservatorship debut won’t be this album. In 2022, the pop star participated in Elton John’s song “Hold Me Closer,” which reached the third position in the charts. However, Britney hasn’t presented any solo tracks yet.
