Jon Bon Jovi Graciously Accepts 2024 MusiCares Award and Confirms Performance at Son Jake’s Wedding (Exclusive)

Jon Bon Jovi was named MusiCares Person of the Year for his music and charity work. The award ceremony and concert took place in Los Angeles before the Grammy Awards.

Bon Jovi, known for founding the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation to help with hunger and homelessness, also shared news about his son Jake Bongiovi’s upcoming wedding to Millie Bobby Brown. He confirmed that he would perform at the wedding.

During the ceremony, Bon Jovi emotionally paid tribute to Bruce Springsteen and thanked him for attending despite his mother’s recent passing. He also thanked Sir Paul McCartney and acknowledged the support of his family, friends, and collaborators throughout his career.

Bon Jovi shared a personal story about getting back his first electric guitar and how it inspired him to write a song. He praised music for its ability to bring people together and expressed gratitude to MusiCares for their support of the music industry.

The event featured performances by various artists, and attendees included Kylie Minogue, Lenny Kravitz, Gayle King, Katherine McPhee, Ted Danson, and Sabrina Carpenter.

Jon Bon Jovi established the JBJ Soul Foundation nearly 20 years ago, providing assistance and job training to those facing homelessness and hunger. He also founded the non-profit community restaurant JBJ Soul Kitchen in New Jersey, offering meals to those in need.

Bon Jovi, a one-time Grammy winner and 11-time nominee, was announced as the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year in October. The Executive Director of MusiCares praised his contributions to rock and roll and his dedication to helping those in need.

This honor adds Bon Jovi’s name to a prestigious list of past MusiCares Person of the Year recipients, including Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Aerosmith, Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac, and Joni Mitchell.
