America Ferrera, who’s known for her acting and was nominated for an Oscar, got really emotional when she met Leonardo DiCaprio for the first time.
She was on the Late Night show with Seth Meyers and shared that she gets starstruck at big events, especially when she meets someone she admired since she was a kid. She remembered meeting DiCaprio at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2007. She had just won an award for her role in Ugly Betty.
She explained that she was a huge fan of DiCaprio because she watched Titanic multiple times when she was younger. So, when she finally got to say “hello” to him at the awards, she got overwhelmed with emotions and ended up crying around the corner. Her boyfriend at the time, now her husband, was embarrassed by her reaction.
Ferrera also talked about how she felt starstruck recently when Tom Hanks praised her acting at an event. She said she looked up to Hanks a lot when she was growing up and his words meant a lot to her.
She’s been nominated for an Oscar for her role in the movie Barbie, alongside nine other actors who also received their first-ever nominations. The awards show will be on March 10th in Los Angeles.
