Rita Moreno talked about her brief romance with Elvis Presley.
She said she was dating Marlon Brando at the time, although it wasn’t a serious relationship from his side. Moreno got upset when she found another woman’s underwear at Brando’s place. She felt hurt and angry but still admired him a lot.
The next day, she got a surprising call from Colonel Tom Parker, who managed Elvis. He said Elvis wanted to meet her after seeing her at the 20th Century Fox cafeteria. Despite her upset feelings about Brando, she agreed to meet Elvis.
In another interview on The View in December 2021, Moreno mentioned dating Elvis a few times. She found him nice but not very interesting. When Brando found out, he got furious and threw chairs around. Moreno was calm and indifferent to his reaction.
Moreno and Brando met on the set of a movie when she was 22. Their relationship was turbulent and detailed in a documentary about Moreno’s life.
In 2017, Moreno said Brando was a significant love in her life and kept a photo of him in her bedroom. She also had a photo of her husband, showing the difference between her past and present loves.
