King Charles wants to get back to work after finding out he has cancer, according to his nephew Peter Phillips.
Peter, who is 46 years old, talked about how the king is doing in an interview on Sky News Australia. He said that even though the King, who is 75, is frustrated that he can’t do as much as he wants right now, he’s still in good spirits.

Peter, whose mom is Princess Anne and dad is Captain Mark Phillips, said that King Charles really wants to do everything he usually does but understands he needs to focus on getting better first.
He mentioned that the King keeps asking his doctors and nurses if he can start doing certain things again. Peter thinks his uncle is eager to get back to normal but is a bit annoyed that it’s taking longer than he hoped.
King Charles’ cancer was announced by Buckingham Palace on February 5th. He had been getting treatment for a swollen prostate at The London Clinic since January 26th. The type of cancer he has hasn’t been revealed.

Despite his illness, King Charles and Queen Camilla might visit Australia later this year. Peter believes they want to meet as many people as possible during their visit.
Peter’s interview happened before Princess Kate shared that she has cancer too. She’s currently getting chemotherapy after tests following her surgery in January found cancer.
With King Charles and Princess Kate unable to do public duties, there’s more pressure on other royals like Princess Anne and Prince Edward to step up.

Peter thinks it’s important for the family to support each other during this time, even if they’re not in the spotlight.
