A fantastic beginning of a life story!
One day, a farmer from Rossville, Indiana, found a calf completely covered in snow lying on the ground. He immediately knew how to act to save the poor creature. The calf got a second chance to live thanks to his brilliant idea.
This farmer is Dean Gangwer. He has a cattle farm with over a hundred cows. The man takes care of all his animals, paying special attention to those that are about to give birth.
Thus, he was completely shocked to see, that one of his cows had given birth at night, and the calf was lying helplessly on the freezing ground.
“Cows usually prefer to stay alone at such times, so she had gone out”, explained the farmer. “I found her calf in a big snow pile”.
Dead had no time to explain anyone what was going on. The calf was in danger, and he had to act quickly.
First he needed to raise the body temperature of the calf. The best option was to use the hot tub. Fortunately, it worked!
I joined him in the bath with my clothes on. He needed my support, and we had a great time together!”, Dean told WRTV.
“We both felt great after the bath. It was a fantastic beginning of a life story!”.
The baby was already showing positive signs of recovery after the bath. Dean covered him with blankets to keep him warm. In a few hours the calf reunited with his mother.
