In a world where many interior designs look the same, it’s nice to find something different. Joan and Jayne Michaels, who work together as 2Michaels, recently showed us one of their new projects, and it felt like a breath of fresh air.

Their client, Andrew Serling, bought an old place in the late 1980s. It’s in a building that used to be a milk factory, built in 1921. The building still has its original charm. Andrew didn’t use the place much over the years, but recently he and his wife, Ellen, decided to spend more time there. They asked Joan and Jayne to help them rearrange the layout of the place with the help of an architect named Jeff English. The result is a beautifully redesigned space with a stylish and sophisticated look.

In the entrance, they kept things simple. They put a nice lamp on a table and added a runner on the floor. The walls are all painted white.
In the main seating area, they put a fancy chandelier in the middle. They added a couple of standing lamps because the clients wanted a lot of light. They got a big sofa and a custom-made one, along with a coffee table.

The bathroom and a bar are hidden behind sliding doors near the TV area. They put some nice chairs and an ottoman in this space.

They have a dining area with a big table and chairs. They put some cool pictures on the wall and hung another nice lamp above the table.

The kitchen is simple and classic, with custom-made cabinets. They designed a special island for it. They used dark paint for some parts and added nice stools for seating.

They designed some cool features like glass screens and stairs. They made sure to keep some of the old factory’s style.

The sleeping loft has built-in closets and storage under the bed. They put some lights for reading and made the bed look cozy.

In the bathroom, they used white tiles for a clean look. They also added mosaic tiles on the floor and used nice shower fittings.

Before, the place looked different. It had a pool table in the living area, a makeshift kitchen, and a loft bed area.
