Moms are ready to risk their lives for their children
Wildlife is dangerous for newborns, especially in the harsh conditions of Masai Mara, Kenya.
This lion cub was on the verge of a tragic accident and his life depended on a minute of attention.
As soon as his mom turned away from him for a minute, the cub fell down the edge of the cliff. Finding himself alone and helpless, the cub started crying for help. The lioness was not far from the cliff and very soon she arrived with 3 other females and a male. However, the cub’s situation was rather dangerous and his rescue might have threatened his mom’s life.
Carefully and slowly, the lioness went down to her baby. Only one mistake, and they both would end up in a completely helpless situation. But the lioness was brave and smart, and soon managed to reach her cub safely. The cub felt safe with his mom, but the danger was still ahead.
The way back home was even more difficult. However, the mother did everything right and now they are in safety.
As soon as they got out of the precipice, the lioness started licking her cub to let him know he was in safety.
