“First honorary rescue dog of South Korea”: Dog saved his owners life

This dog deserves everyone’s gratitude!

Baekgu is the first dog in the history of South Korea to ever get a lifeguard award. He saved the life of his 90-year-old owner form hypothermia.

On August 25, the woman and her dog disappeared. Surveillance cameras around the house captured the scene. Baekgu’s 90-year-old owner suffers from dementia, and that’s why their relatives were terrified by the abduction. They contacted the police and they immediately started looking for the woman. The search lasted 40 hours. They discovered the woman in the middle of a rice field 2km away from her house.

It was raining and the woman’s clothes got really heavy from the wetness, making it difficult for the woman to get up. It was also terribly cold, so the dog refused to leave his owner alone, doing his best to keep her warm. Soon the woman was hospitalized, and Baekgu was recognized for his loyalty and bravery. The woman’s daughter told that they welcomed Baekgu into their house 3 years ago. He was being attacked by larger dogs, so they adopted him. “Baekgu was really loyal and was always by my mother’s side, as if he was expressing his gratitude this way. I was really concerned when I learnt my mom was missing from the house on such a cold and rainy day. Baekgu deserves my gratitude! He is our family!”, explained the young woman.
