The hippo keeps visiting her favorite humans every day!
This hippo named Jessica is currently the most famous among her species. Around 150 documentaries have been filmed about her, medias all over the world has written about her, and thousands of tourists want to visit her every year.
Jessica’s story began 18 years ago in South Africa. Mr. Joubert found a baby hippo on the river bank near his house. None of her relatives were seen around. The baby was only a few days old and it was impossible for her to survive all alone. The man decided to take her home and named her Jessica.
The entire Joubert family was happy to take care of the animal. Jessica spent a few months in the house of her rescuers, but soon she started growing in size and it was impossible for her to stay there. So the Jouberts decided to release Jessica into the same river where they once found her.
But Jessica was so attached to the family, that she kept returning to them every day and even visited the house where she grew up. Just like before, Jessica still likes watching TV and drinking tea. And her former owner makes a few liters of her favorite tea to welcome her with treats.
The hippo isn’t afraid of anyone, and would accept pats from everyone.
