“Emma Stone Shines at the 2024 Golden Globes”: Wins Double Awards and Shares Humorous Take on Taking Trophies Home to New York

On Sunday, Emma Stone, who is 35 years old, won two awards at the 2024 Golden Globes. She got the best film actress in a comedy or musical for her role in “Poor Things” and also won for producing the movie, which got the best picture in a musical or comedy.

When talking to PEOPLE at the Los Angeles screening of “The Curse” season one finale on Monday, Stone shared that her new awards would be going back to her home in New York. She humorously imagined them being on an airplane, feeling scared and confused.

In “Poor Things,” Stone worked again with director Yorgos Lanthimos and writer Tony McNamara, who previously collaborated on the Oscar-winning film “The Favourite.” In this movie, Stone plays Bella Baxter, a woman who undergoes an experimental procedure that gives her a fresh start in life. The story explores Bella’s journey of discovering the wonders and dangers of the world, along with her own sexual awakening.

During the Golden Globes, Stone thanked her husband, Dave McCary, and her castmates for making the film enjoyable. She expressed gratitude to Tony McNamara for his writing and Yorgos Lanthimos for directing, calling the experience of playing Bella unbelievable.

“Poor Things” is currently showing in theaters, and the season one finale of “The Curse” airs on Showtime on Sunday at 10 p.m.
