Selma Blair Opens Up About Daily Struggles with Pain, Remission from Multiple Sclerosis, and Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

Selma Blair shared an update about her health on Instagram. She’s still in remission from multiple sclerosis but deals with daily pain due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). EDS affects connective tissue, making joints overly flexible and skin stretchy. This leads to injuries, pain, and muscle instability.

Blair finds it hard to stretch because of EDS, causing stiffness and muscle injuries. Despite the challenges, she remains positive and takes it in stride. She emphasized that EDS isn’t scary but an extra challenge to manage.

Regarding multiple sclerosis, she’s still in remission but experiences fatigue and stiffness. She gets IV treatment, which helps, and is due for an MRI and blood work to monitor her MS.

Blair recently visited Washington, D.C., with her son, enjoying the trip. She mentioned that she moves and walks better when alone, acknowledging the visible impact of her conditions.

Multiple sclerosis is a potentially disabling disease affecting the brain and spinal cord. Blair highlighted the variation in symptoms and the misconception that it always progresses linearly.

She expressed gratitude for her well-being but admitted it’s a bummer that she just wants to sleep and ride her horse to feel better. Despite the challenges, she remains lucky, grateful, and okay, acknowledging the ongoing journey of managing her health.
