Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Avant talked openly about being stepmothers at a women’s event. Paltrow, who has two kids with her ex-husband Chris Martin and two stepkids with her current husband Brad Falchuk, shared how hard it was to bond with her stepchildren at first.
Avant, who is married to Ted Sarandos, spoke about her experience raising her husband’s two kids from a previous relationship. She mentioned seeking advice from her late mother when things got tough.
Avant’s mother advised her to set boundaries in her home to maintain control. Although there were challenges, Avant said she’s now closer to her stepchildren than ever. The event took place on Nicole’s mother’s birthday, who sadly passed away in 2021 after a robbery.
Paltrow was one of Nicole’s supportive friends during that difficult time.
