The famous weatherman missed about thirty episodes of Today between late November and January 6th, 2023, because he kept going to the hospital. This happened after he almost died from blood clots in his lungs at the end of last year.
Al Roker, the weatherman, once tweeted about his health problem. He said he was in the hospital because of a blood clot in his leg that went to his lungs. He thanked everyone for their prayers and said he was getting better.
Al Roker has had health problems before. He had prostate cancer and surgery two years ago. He also had surgeries for his hip and knee problems. Despite all this, he finished the Brooklyn Half Marathon.
His friends from the Today show sent him nice messages, wishing him a quick recovery.
Now that he’s feeling better, Al Roker is back on Today. His wife, Deborah, talked about how hard it was to take care of him during his illness. She said it was exhausting and scary. But she’s grateful that he’s better now.
Deborah also said she had a lot of support from family and friends, which helped her get through it. She believes her faith helped her stay strong.
