10-year-old Maxim Abramov had his legs amputated, but can skateboard on par with professionals

A few years ago the world was shocked by the news about a 6-month-old boy, who was left home alone when fire broke out in the house. As a result the boy’s legs were severely burnt. They needed to be amputated.

The mother was deprived of parental authority, and Maxim was taken to an orphanage. From there a family from St. Petersburg took the baby. They couldn’t stay indifferent to the boy’s uneasy fate.

After adoption, his new family started saving up quite a big sum of money for Maxim’s prostheses – about 4.5 million rubles.

Maxim grew up to be a really active boy. Despite everything, he managed to have a lot of friends. Everyone who gets to know him closely, can’t help but get attached to him.

When the boy turned 7, he found out there was a whole movement of people engaged in skateboarding. Maxim asked his parents to buy him a skateboard so that he can start training.

At fist they bought him a board to train at home, then he started to train outside with it. The parents had to buy him a skateboard of an upgraded model.

Maxim started training seriously. He was told there are many people like him that can skateboard with a lot of confidence. This motivated the boy to count more on his abilities. Now Maxim has over 50K followers on Instagram that support him.
