Being a young mother, the dog was left with no shelter, and only human kindness could help her survive!
She was starving herself, but took care of the babies
Not so long ago, Melody gave birth to 10 puppies. And right after it, someone brought her to the animal shelter. The little puppies were also brought there, so that the mother could take care of them. It’s unknown where the dog came from and who her owners were, but the conditions in which she used to live before coming to the shelter, were terrible. She looked like skin and bones. With incredibly sad eyes, the dog struggled not to fall.
And the most surprising thing is, that Melody turned out to be a caring little mother. She fed her babies every day, although she was starving herself, and could barely stand.
Seeing the condition of the poor dog, a woman, working in the shelter, asked her friend, Patty Dawson, to help her save the young mom. When her friend saw the photos of the sweet dogs, her heart was filled with sympathy. “Melody and her puppies just didn’t get out of my mind”, admitted Patty and, though hesitating, she agreed to help.
A chance to survival
Unfortunately, she couldn’t take all the 11 dogs home. But then she made a post about the abandoned pet on Facebook. To some point, Melody was at a disadvantage, as she was a nursing mother. However, despite this, there were people who agreed to take care of the whole family temporarily.
Care has done its job: the dog that almost died of exhaustion, began to slowly gain more weight. She realized, that both she and her babies were safe, so she was happy. The adorable puppies were also safe and could eat their mother’s milk, without hurting her. By the time, the four-legged mother will find a permanent home. And her babies will be given to those, who will be ready to love and take care of them.
We are glad, that this cute family got a chance to happiness, and they don’t have to wander in the streets in search of food and shelter.
