For the first time, Lindsey saw this cat on one of the streets of Florida.

He was the leader of a big group. An elusive, strong leader with numerous traces of cat battles on fluffy sides. The injured ear didn’t spoil his appearance, just the opposite. However, the special decoration of this big muzzle were his eyes.
His yellow, close-set eyes expressed an unquenchable fire of will and vast experience. The cat somehow subtly resembled a predatory Manul – and who knows, maybe one of the representatives of these wild animals was really one of his ancestors!

He was already old, but flexible. Volunteers didn’t manage to catch him from the first try. He didn’t take the bait, and after a while just disappeared. He was missing for a few weeks. And when he finally appeared, it was obvious he had caught an unknown disease.
The animal could barely move his paws, and he immediately volunteered to go into the cage-trap. The wise leader realized, only people could help him.

Lindsey took the cat to a non-expensive vet clinic, asking them to examine the patient and treat his ear infection. The animal was tested and…vets recommended to euthanize him!
It turned out that the animal, in addition to a number of curable diseases, also suffered from the FIV (feline immunodeficiency, an analogue of human HIV).

“I looked into his wise eyes and spotted there a request – ‘Don’t leave me! I fill fight…’ Of course, I was not going to euthanize him. Instead, I took him with me to see how this wild animal can get comfortable at home”, said Lindsey.
The woman named her pet Mr. Belvedere, or Mr. B. For several weeks she treated him for scabies, ear cancer and dental problems, visiting different clinics. As the cat was getting better, he started to open up and trust the person more!
“At first he refused to get out of the cage and I communicated with him only verbally and…with a wooden spoon. Yes, he liked this little tool with a length of a hand. I often scratched his head sticking the spoon through the bars. He only let this much!”

“Then, one day, he let me pick him up and give him medicine. At the same time, he did not resist, but snuggled up to me with gratitude. That was a miracle!”, tells Mr. B’s caretaker.

The cat went on with his treatment. He was still bothered by arthritis and parasites. In just one summer, Lindsey changed 3 veterinarians. And all three of them suggested the same thing: stop clinging to life and euthanize the old cat. After all, he was already 11 years old! That’s enough, he has already enjoyed his life…
But B never gave up. Slowly, but surely, he was recovering— thanks to Lindsay’s willpower and efforts. The animal liked to sit on his owner’s knees, melted from gently caress and hugs. And there was little in him that resembled the wild animal that came from the street!

After 4 months, a veterinarian from North Carolina, named Jenn, appeared in B’s life. She and her husband fell in love with his “manul” look, his graceful gait and his fluffy tail full of dignity. The cat’s love for the wooden spoon hit the hardest. And now the cat is traveling from Florida to North Carolina.

“Our boy easily got used to his new home. He likes to play with the toys, that he has never had before. At these moments he wants to show that he still remembers the wild life and continues to be a predator able to pacify his prey! This is not a home-cat, although he tries to act like one”, says Jenna laughing.
And when Mr. B was saved, he had no idea his life was just beginning!

This is how it happens not only to people, but also to animals. When someone’s gray and evil life suddenly turns into a fairy tale!
“B is the most unique animal I have ever met,-says Jenna,- There are softness and strength, caution and trust living in him. He also has some weaknesses – such as the wooden spoon :)”

And such animals live near us everywhere. We just need to open our hearts and look around. Don’t miss the most important meeting in your life!
