This family does an amazing job, helping bears in the wild
It turns out that bears are not very caring mothers. Sensing the slightest danger, the female throws the tiny cubs in the den and saves her own life. Well, it is difficult to condemn the animal, because its actions are entirely subordinated to instincts. Fortunately, people come to the aid of young bears, like the famous family of the Pazhetnovs in the whole Toropetsky district.

The head of the family, a certified hunter, an eminent ecologist and the author of numerous books about wildlife Valentin Sergeevich Pazhetnov founded a special nursery for cubs. Foreign and domestic specialists often come to the unique shelter. Valentin and his wife Svetlana, also a biologist by education, welcome like-minded guests. Poachers are rampant, despite the adopted law banning bear hunting in dens, and there are constantly not enough hands to fight criminals.

During his career, Valentin has saved more than two hundred cubs. The man has developed a scheme for feeding bears – the diet completely excludes meat and other goodies. Animals get used to finding their own food at an early age. Such strictness is caused by taking care of pets. If a bear gets used to feeding from the hands of a person from childhood, then it will be able to go out to poachers, having lost the sense of danger to people.

For the same reason, the spouses wear special costumes so that the bears do not smell their rescuers and do not get attached to them.

Age takes its toll: lately it has become difficult for Valentin to manage the household. Sergey Pazhetnov, Candidate of Biological Sciences and a true expert in hunting and wildlife, took over the main concerns about his father’s brainchild with pleasure.

His son, the grandson of a great ecologist, Vasily also works for the benefit of the family business. He graduated from the agricultural academy and helps his father save brown bears. This year, ten abandoned cubs are in the care of the hunters. Soon they will grow up, return to their native environment and will no longer see their caretakers.
