“Can you make such a transformation?”: Here’s how you need to renovate your kitchen!

Danielle Arceneaux, a public relations consultant in New York City, lived in an apartment with a tiny kitchen that didn’t match the style of the rest of her 1920s-era Park Slope home.

Although she owned the apartment, she didn’t have much money to spend on renovating the kitchen. So, she decided to tackle the project herself, even though she had no prior experience. She likened it to cutting your own hair: “If I really mess it up, I can always hire someone to fix it,” she said. She relied on YouTube tutorials, borrowed tools, and dedicated weekends to improve the kitchen’s appearance. Danielle focused on cosmetic changes, like paint and fixtures, without replacing appliances, countertops, or modifying the wiring or plumbing.
