Elephants gathered to pay tribute to their leader

These animals are precious and we should do our best to protect them!

An herd of elephants gathered in Kala Wewa reserve, Sri Lanka, to say their last goodbye to their leader. Apparently, the leader didn’t survive a fight with his opponent, and now his fellows were trying to hug him for the last time. What a tragic loss for elephants! There were about 300 elephants in the scene.

Oxford University studies in 2006 show, that elephants usually mourn the loss of their family and friends. They also do their best to help injured or sick elephants so that they will survive.

It would be wrong to compare animals with people, because most of the time, animals express negative emotions and do bad things without shame. Animals, mostly, live in the moment and do not think about the consequences of their actions.

People, on the other hand, try to always hide their emotions or just ignore them.

These animals are precious and we should do our best to protect them!
