Marlo Hampton Leaves ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Before Season 16: ‘Starting Fresh’

Marlo Hampton won’t be on the next season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” She told PEOPLE that her contract ended after Season 15. She’s taking a break to focus on new projects and her family.

Marlo joined the show in Season 4 as a friend of NeNe Leakes. She appeared on and off in later seasons, becoming a full-time Housewife in Seasons 14 and 15.

However, due to low ratings and conflicts among the cast, the show is making big changes. It’s not getting a full reboot like “Real Housewives of New York City,” but some changes are happening. Kandi Burruss is leaving after 14 years, while Porsha Williams is coming back after two seasons away.

Other cast members like Kenya Moore, Drew Sidora, Shereé Whitfield, and Sanya Richards-Ross haven’t confirmed if they’re staying. Bravo hasn’t commented on their status yet.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” has been on since 2008 and used to be the most popular show in the franchise.

Andy Cohen, the show’s producer, talked about the future of the franchise. He said they have great new cast members and he’s excited about the upcoming season.
