Billie Eilish made her old choir teacher happy!
When she and her brother Finneas won an award for their song “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie at the Oscars on March 10, Billie made sure to thank someone special.
She said, “Ms. Brigham, thanks for believing in me,” to the crowd. And she added, “Ms. T, you didn’t like me, but you were good at your job.”

Mandy Brigham, the teacher, wasn’t watching the Oscars. She was at a tennis match. But then she got lots of messages telling her about Billie’s thank you.
Mandy had taught Billie when she was 8 years old. When she heard Billie’s thanks, she was really surprised and happy. She never thought something like this would happen to her.

She told a magazine that it meant a lot to her that Billie remembered her all these years later. She said it’s the best thing a teacher can hear.
The magazine couldn’t find “Ms. T” for a comment.
When Billie and Finneas won the award, they also thanked the director of Barbie, Greta Gerwig. Billie said she was grateful for the movie and the song. She said it was for everyone who loved the movie.

When they got nominated for the award, they said they were really honored. They thanked the Academy, the people who made the movie, and everyone who liked their song.
