On Friday nights back in the 1990s, many people would start their evening by watching a bunch of favorite TV shows on ABC. This was called TGIF. It included shows like Family Matters, Full House, Step by Step, Boy Meets World, Perfect Strangers, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, and Sister, Sister. Each week, there was a catchy little song and a preview of what was coming up on the shows, often featuring one of the stars.

Even though many of the actors from those shows have stopped acting, they sometimes get together at events like 90s Con. Recently, the stars of Boy Meets World, Step by Step, and Full House had a reunion in Connecticut and shared stories with fans. At one event, the cast of Step by Step even led everyone in singing “Happy Birthday” to the actor who played the dad.
Although TGIF is a thing of the past, you can still watch many of these shows on streaming services. Some of the cast members have started podcasts where they talk about their time on the sets and what they’ve been up to since then.
So even though TGIF isn’t around anymore, you can still have some fun and remember the good times with those classic shows.
