The friendship between a person and a penguin is something unique.
Already for 5 years a resident of the South American region Joao Pereira de Souza has been visited by an unusual guest. It’s a penguin named Dindim, whom this man saved back in 2011.
This Magellan penguin overcomes a distance of more than 5 thousand kilometers to meet Joao. Then stays with him from June to February. After molting he returns home.
Joao de Souza told that 5 years ago he found a penguin covered with oil on the shore of one of the beaches in Rio de Janeiro. The poor bird might have died, if not for the care of Joao, who washed and saved Dindim.
Since then the man became a “family member” for the penguin. He doesn’t let anyone come close to him, meanwhile Joao can take Dindim in his arms, pat and feed him.
According to one of the local biologists, the penguin, seeing his savior, starts wagging his tail like a faithful dog, and shouts loudly from joy.
