Elderly Rose of the unsinkable Titanic in her youth
On November 1, 1997, one of the most beloved films by the audience, Titanic, was released on the big screens. Today it is also considered one of the best disaster films in the history of cinema.

The audience will probably remember that the love story on the “unsinkable” ship was told by an elderly Rose, whose role was played by the amazing actress Gloria Stuart.

Gloria Stuart’s acting career was built not only in the cinema, but also in the theater. Over 70 years of work, she has starred in more than 100 films and shows. The most famous roles in the career of this American actress were in “The Invisible Man” (1933) and “Titanic”. She starred in the latter at the age of 87.

For the role of Rose DeWitt Bukater, Gloria Stuart was nominated for the Golden Globe and Oscar Awards, which made her the oldest actress nominated for an Academy Award. She also received a special award from the Screen Actors Guild of America for her “boundless dedication to cinema.”

In 2005, the actress was diagnosed with lung cancer. Gloria tried not to attach much importance to the disease and continued to work in the cinema. In June 2010, she celebrated her centenary. Three months later, the actress died of respiratory failure in her house.
