It’s painful to lose a beloved one, but such experiences teach us to appreciate what we have!
From ancient times, people consider dogs their family members. With them being unable to speak, and people being forgetful, sometimes misfortunes occur. Fortunately there are animal rescue organizations and volunteers who are concerned about these animals.
Maddy, our today’s hero, had lived with her owners for 12 long years. However, in 2017, her family decided to move from one of the suburbs in Huston to another one. Shortly after setting off, the pet got lost. The dog came back to her caring family after spending 3 years as a stray dog.
During these 3 years, the owners lost all their hope of seeing Maddy ever again. Especially after the terrible Hurricane Harvey, which destroyed everything in its way.
Maddy had a microchip, but the owners hadn’t managed to update its data before her disappearance. They had one last hope – a Facebook page named Lost Dogs of Texas.
It later turned out, that in 2021, a volunteer found Maddy. The microchip data was useless and she couldn’t find her owners. Then she came across the Facebook post and found them. It took volunteers only one day to find the family and reunite the dog with her beloved ones. They had never replaced Maddy with another pet!
When the family reunited with their long-lost member, the owners surrounded her with love and care. It’s painful to lose a beloved one, but such experiences teach us to appreciate what we have!
