Maybe one day this dolphin saves a human life!
It is dangerous for dolphins, as well as many other marine mammals, to get stuck on the land. They have to struggle to get back into the water and might even die from dehydration.
This dolphin happened to end up out of the water on the shores of Namibia. Fortunately, Naude Dreyer, a kayaker, was around and noticed the struggling animal. The man was the conductor of Pelican Point Kayaking. Naude wanted to help the dolphin, so he carefully lifted it and put it back into the water.
“We came across a young Benguela dolphin on our way back from a trip fighting for its life on the shore”, told Naude. “As soon as it felt the water on his body, the dolphin flew ahead like a bullet”.
The dolphin even wagged its tail as a sign of gratitude.
Here is the video of the man saving the poor creature:
Naude assured he would guard the area to make sure the dolphin is not back. We are grateful to this man for his kindness!
Dolphins are smart creatures and like to return the favor. Maybe one day that dolphin will save a human life.
