If you want to adopt a dog but don’t want to go down to a shelter, then this article is for you!
For many people, it is really uncomfortable to adopt a pet from an animal shelter. The Kern County Animal Services are bringing their animals with them to two locations this week, holding adoption events.
“This weekend we are holdin an event in Tractor Supply on Calloway from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., then move to the Grocery Outlet in Rosamond, California, on Sunday. We have some adoptable pets with us”, mentioned Nick Cullen, the director of the Kern County Animal Services.
The goal of every animal shelter is to have empty cages, in other words, have all their pets adopted. And since many people cannot find time to visit shelters and look for the perfect pet for them, the shelter decided to bring the animals to them. The director also noted, that the shelter is doing everything possible to organize off-site adoptions every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It’s unfortunate that shelters are currently at capacity. To help the shelter and the pets living there, community help is needed. Off-site adoption events make dog adoptions much easier, as more people see them just passing by.
Adoption fees are set at $20. All pets are vaccinated and ready for adoption. The shelter only has one requirement fro pet adoption – you need to promise to give the pet you are adopting a loving and caring home. As they have spent most of their lives at shelters, they need some time to get used to the new environment, so, please, be patient and loving!
