The competition raises positive awareness about animal welfare issues
The recently unveiled finalists for the 2023 Comedy Pets Photography Awards have presented a delightful collection of uproarious pet photos sourced from various parts of the world.
The roots of this competition can be traced back a few years when renowned photographers Tom Sullam and Paul Joynson-Hicks, who were actively engaged in the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, made a significant decision to broaden their endeavors. They aimed to highlight the immense happiness that pets bestow upon us. Their annual tradition not only aims to entertain but also serves as a platform to raise awareness and garner support for local animal welfare charities operating at the grassroots level.
The organization’s mission statement emphasizes their desire to raise positive awareness about animal welfare issues and celebrate the remarkable and valuable impact that pets have on our lives.
Voting for the People’s Choice Award is open until August 6th, allowing everyone to participate. Additionally, six judges will determine the recipient of the Overall Best Photo award, which includes a trophy, a cash prize of £500 ($654.55), and a SpeedTop crossbody bag.
The judging criteria for this competition will primarily emphasize the seamless integration of technical expertise with the most hilarious content and caption. By assessing these aspects, the panel of judges aims to identify the image that excels in both photographic skill and comedic value. The announcement of the winners is scheduled for August 11th, building up anticipation among participants and enthusiasts alike.
