“Joker Showdown”: Barry Keoghan and Joaquin Phoenix Meet at the 2024 Golden Globes

At the 2024 Golden Globes, something interesting happened when Barry Keoghan, known for Saltburn star, met Joaquin Phoenix, who won an Oscar. Both actors have played the Joker in recent years. They had a brief meeting at the award show in Los Angeles.

Barry Keoghan, 31, shared two photos on Instagram and captioned them, “Just havin’ a laugh 🤡.”

Joaquin Phoenix, 49, played the Joker in the 2019 movie “Joker,” where he won an Academy Award for best actor. On the other hand, Keoghan portrayed the Joker in the 2022 film “The Batman,” alongside Robert Pattinson.

The Golden Globes also had Jared Leto, another actor who played the Joker, sitting near Phoenix. The late Heath Ledger, who also portrayed the Joker, received a tribute from director Christopher Nolan, known for “The Dark Knight.”

Nolan mentioned his previous experience on the stage when he accepted an award on behalf of Ledger in 2008. Ledger, who passed away at 28, posthumously won the best supporting actor Oscar for his role as the Joker.

Jared Leto, 52, played the Joker in “Suicide Squad” (2016), “Birds of Prey” (2020), and “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” (2021).
