For many people dogs are real family members or assistants. Sometimes dogs may save absolutely innocent people. And one example of this is the incident that happened in January in Loktevsky District, Altai Krai.
A dog warmed a 2-year-old child abandoned on an unheated veranda.
A criminal case was opened against the irresponsible mother of the child, who had left her child in an unheated building. The baby was wearing too little. A man noticed them while passing by the building. At first, he noticed the dog warming the baby.
It turned out, the mother had left her child with nothing to wear or eat. The man immediately sent the boy to hospital. The boy had frostbite and needed emergency help. The abandoned child survived only thanks to the dog, as the assistant prosecutor of the Loktevsky district Maria Abraschenko said.
After saving the boy, his mother didn’t appear for 4 days. Apparently, she didn’t even realize her child was not home. The court charged the woman with “abandonment without the help of a person, who is in a life- or health-threatening condition, and deprived of the opportunity to take measures for self-preservention due to infancy”. Child protective services decided to deprive the woman of her parental rights.
