The poor dog had never caused any problems
Hayden Howard noticed some unusual marks on her dog, Jackson’s body, which she initially thought were bug bites. However, It was later revealed that the dog had been shot with a BB gun 27 times. The shooting took place when Jackson was in his fenced backyard. The vet successfully removed 20 BB pellets and 7 bullets from Jackson’s body and prescribed medication to help manage his injuries and pain.
Howard was shocked and saddened by the attack, as Jackson was a friendly and gentle dog who had never caused any problems. She offered a $500 reward for information leading to the capture of the person responsible. The police later arrested 44-year-old Tim Woodard for drug possession and linked him to the shooting.
Howard was relieved that the person responsible for hurting Jackson would be punished. She tearfully recalled how close her dog had come to being blinded, as one of the pellets had lodged under his eyelid.
