When the Biggs sisters were born, they were practically no different from each other. Ordinary twins with similar noses, eyes and hair. One of the girls was darker. Below is the photo of the sisters as babies.
However, every year, the color of the skin and eyes of one of the twins was getting darker and darker. One of them was white-skinned, and the other one was dark-skinned.
It might seem, that the girls were of different nationalities, but they, in fact, were twins. Then why so? Everything is much simpler than it seems. The girls’ parents have different nationalities. Look at the photo below, and you will get it!
Amanda – the mother – comes from England, and Michael – the father – moved to the USA from Jamaica. They fell in love with each other, and despite their skin colors, different nationalities and condemnation of relatives, they stayed together. A few months later, the couple got married. Soon Amanda got pregnant. And it so happened that one of the twins looks more like her mother, and the other one more like the father.
They became popular only a few years ago, when one of the fashion magazines put a photo of the girls on the cover. There was also an article about the twins in the magazine.
Today the sisters are 13 years old. They go to school and do sports, just like all children of their age. The friends of the twins admit, that their skin-color is the only difference between them. Otherwise, they are very similar.
By the way, geneticists say, that such a phenomenon is quite rare. Perhaps that’s why the Biggs sisters and their parents became so popular.
