Betty Walter is a dog rescuer, so her phone is constantly bursting with requests for advice. And although she is usually not indifferent, this time she was at work when her friend called and reported that a dog was hit by a car. As soon as her shift ended, Betty went to the place where the injured dog was, because her head was filled with thoughts about the victim.
The dog that was hit by the car was still at the scene. But she wasn’t alone. Perhaps that’s why Betty’s friend couldn’t help her. A white dog with obviously broken paws was lying on the grass. And a black-and-white shaggy dog was sitting next to her as a gendarme. He made it clear that anyone approaching his friend would have to deal with his own teeth. He looked worried, but there was nothing he could do.
While Betty was watching, several more dogs appeared nearby and the black-and-white dog drove them away so that they would not try to molest her friend. When the girl got out of the car, he attacked her, but she did not back down. She assured the dog, whom she named Allen, that she had come with good intentions and wanted to help. Betty was sure that the guard dog would believe her.
Betty texted her friend and she rushed to them in a few minutes. They carried the wounded dog, which they decided to name White (because of the color of the fur) to the car. All this was happening under Allen’s watch. With all his menacing appearance, the dog made it clear that he would not let his girlfriend alone. So he was also put in the trunk.
Betty felt she had to find a family for these two new residents. She did not dare to separate these friends, and it is not so easy to find a home for two large dogs at once.
The veterinarian diagnosed the injured dog with a pelvic fracture. However, this can be dealt with with the help of surgical intervention. The girls paid for the operation. When White went home, Allen was already waiting for her.

He never left her side. It was clear that Betty had made the right choice by leaving the two of them. After the operation, White still needs heart treatment and long-term rehabilitation. And since it is still difficult to keep two pets at the same time, it will take some time before the girl can start looking for a new caring family.
Of course, Allen is ready to join to his new family. But it is impossible to send him without his girlfriend. It would be heartbreaking for him, for White and for Betty.
