Looks like it’s a prehistoric monster coming out of the sand
Paul Byrne from America posted an interesting picture on social networks. This “monster” was not made by a man. It’s a lightning strike.

Such natural sculptures are very fragile and it is not difficult to damage them. The posted picture looks amazing. It looks like it’s a prehistoric monster coming out of the sand.

The guy also told how this process takes place. “This thing is called fulgurite. Such a miracle is sculpted by nature itself. Lightning strikes sand or soil, and heat melts silica into glass.” At the same time, sometimes the temperature can reach thirty thousand degrees.

Fulgurite is from the Latin fulgur, meaning “lightning”. As Byrne says, it can form not only under the influence of high temperature, but also under pressure. Such drawings of nature can most often be found in the desert, in open spaces, as well as in places where meteorites fall.

The figures seem majestic. But most often they turn out to be small in size, only a couple of tens of centimeters. Although there are truly gigantic sculptures.

One of the largest, which was found in our time, had a length of almost five meters and was located in the north of Florida, USA. Charles Darwin in his “The Voyage of the Beagle” recorded that in the UK he saw a nine-meter fulgurite.
In nature, you can find no less interesting figures formed by a lightning strike.
