The dog has become a real miracle for the whole family!
10-year-old Ella suffers from autism spectrum disorder and bad eye-sight. This led the girl to stay in isolation from a very young age. She communicated very little with others.
Now the situation has improved thanks to Diamond – a Labrador Retriever. The dog has become her best friend who is always by her side.
Ella’s mother – Nikola Moss – was against this method. She didn’t want a dog to have such an impact on her child. The family lives in Belper, County of Derbyshire, England. For 6 years they had been trying various methods to help the girl, but all in vain. And one day they adopted Diamond in 2020. At the age of 4 Ella had met another guide dog, and here’s how the idea of adoption came from.
Then the miracle happened! Ella had hardly ever spoken before, and now she began talking to the dog. The dog’s owner suggested the mother reconsidering her decision.
Ella considers Diamond a “miracle”!
Ella became much calmer after meeting Diamond. Eventually, she even got rid of her anxiety and isolation coming from her childhood. “Now she communicates much more and her speech has improved greatly”, says Nikola Moss.
The dog can sense Ella’s emotional state. And this ability is very crucial for the mother. It’s even difficult for her to imagine her life without the dog. This is a miracle for the whole family.
