Fortunately, an animal protection association intervened and rescued the dogs, subsequently locating their former owner who had left them behind. The dogs were initially named Hachi and Pancho, but their names were changed to Prometeo and Bob.
According to the previous owner, it was the garbage truck driver himself who had asked to take the dogs. On the other hand, the animal protection association received a call from Alejandra Gonzales, who informed them about the situation. The truck driver claimed that the woman had requested him to take the dogs to an open-air rubbish dump. The truth remains unclear, with conflicting accounts.
Regardless of who is telling the truth, both dogs endured immense fear and trauma during this ordeal. Bob, in particular, suffered significant psychological damage as a result of this cruelty. The dedicated staff at the rescue organization made every effort to rehabilitate and socialize him.
