In 1912, a British explorer named Aubyn Trevor-Battye wanted a special house in Hampshire, England. He hired architects Inigo Trigs and William Unsworth to build it. He wanted it to look like the Alhambra palace in Spain. The house had a yellow outside, red roof, arched windows, and a strong connection to nature. It also had columns and fancy ceilings.

Recently, a family with three teenagers bought the house. Tamsin Saunders, an interior designer, fixed up the house for them. She updated some things but kept the old style. She used old family furniture and found new pieces that matched. She wanted the house to look like it’s been in the family forever.

Tamsin wanted the inside to feel like the outside. She used soft, faded colors and floral patterns. She also made sure the big windows let in a lot of light.

In the entrance, there’s a painting and a big vase with flowers. The living room has restored floors and a fancy ceiling. A big chandelier adds to the elegance. There’s a cozy window bench looking out at the garden.

The kitchen got a makeover too. Tamsin replaced the old cabinets with new ones that have a classic look. She chose warm colors to match the old stove. The kitchen now has lots of storage space.

The dining room has a mix of old and new furniture. The bedroom centers around a red and ivory bed. The daughter’s room has a fun wallpaper and light green blinds.

Even the bathroom got a touch-up. The old green floors match well with a sage-colored bathtub.

Before, the house had old-fashioned curtains and dull furniture. The kitchen was especially bad, so Tamsin got rid of it completely.
