We are used to seeing news anchors in a certain dress code – discreet makeup and hairstyle, business clothes and, of course, no tattoos. However, on December 31, 2021 this common opinion changed.
Oriini Kaipara from New Zealand entered the world television history as the first TV anchor with tattoos, not only on her hands, but also on the face. Before her, there was no such thing in any country, on any TV channel.
The thing is, that Oriini has recently found out she, for 100%, belongs to the Maori people, who were indigenous people of New Zealand. In honor of this, Oriini decided to get a Maori face tattoo.
The girls has her whole life dreamt about working on TV, and now can’t even believe that, despite her appearance, she was hired to read news.
