Victor Johannes faced something unusual in winter, when he was on vacation in northern Sweden. He was skating on the frozen lake, when he and his friends noticed something strange. Despite the fact, that it was quite far from them, the men saw a huge body through a hole on the surface of the frozen lake. Obviously, the creature tried to escape through a small area of the surface not frozen yet. It was a matter of life and death. They saw a moose trying to get on the surface several times, but the friends realized, the animal couldn’t handle it alone. Apparently the animal was already exhausted and frozen in cold water. Moose itself is a heavy animal, that’s why it was unable to get out.
“We saw how the moose tried to get out of the water several times. But it couldn’t”, said Victor. “We had to make a bigger hole to get it out of there”.
The friends began to cut a hole near the shore of the lake, hoping that the animal would understand them and move to their way. Fortunately, the shore wasn’t too far from where they were. But still it took the men a lot of effort and energy. In the video you will see what it costs to break ice in such a cold without special equipment. The men realized that they were putting their own lives in danger, as they could fall into the cold water at any moment.
Halfway there, it’s already visible that the moose is already practically exhausted. The animal was only able to stick out its head, and its body moved with inertia. And still, the moose was lucky, although it’s clear that its body is trembling barely obeys the owner. But in the end, the moose gathers all its strength and gets out of the water, barely standing on shaky legs.
It’s visible, that after the moose got out of the water, he felt a surge of strength. As soon as it stood on the ground, his legs immediately led him into the forest, away from the water. The friends understood that the animal was fine, and its legs weren’t injured.
Then the friends continued on their way, but they always remember the day, when they managed to save the innocent animal from a terrible death. Definitely, they will remember this for many years!
