A huge whale that almost drowned a fisherman was caught on video.

From time to time, nature presents its power, as if reminding us how small we are. Recently, this power was manifested in the waters of California’s Monterey Bay. There are various marine mammals living in the bay. Migrating gray and humpback whales often appear there and usually attract tourists.

A giant humpback whale emerged from the water in Monterey Bay, California.

The photo and video footage shows how a whale jumps out of the ocean right in front of a fishing boat called “Baja Sueno”. “If I were that fisherman, I would’ve needed new pants!”, said the photographer that’s also the author of these photos.

The boat looks tiny next to the whale.

Photographer Douglas Croft captured the whale from the porthole of another boat in such an angle that the animal seems even bigger. “I went down the deck to shoot from the porthole near the waterline. From this angle it created the illusion that we look at the whale from below”,- explained Douglas.

A tourist named Kate Cummings helped the photographer by filming a video of the whale. She tells: “It was very interesting to film the video. Before that, the whale had already appeared on the surface, but it was still far from the fisherman. I guessed in which direction the whale was moving and where it would come up next. However, I didn’t think it would cover the whole boat. ”

Adult humpback whales weigh 25-30 tons.

They reach 12-16 meters in height. Humpback whales often jump on the surface, and the tourists love them a lot for this.

What an incredible video!
