Woman put a newborn kitten to a nursing dog

A frightening and fearless guide may also be a loving, gentle and caring friend.

A New York resident shared a wonderful rescue story of a newborn kitten. Her Doberman, who had just given birth to her puppies, became its adoptive mother.

The end of summer was troublesome for Brittany Callan. The woman was helping with the repair of her relative’s house. Suddenly, a weak cry caught her attention, coming from the yard. The woman headed for the spot and found a blind kitten. It appeared, it was born not so long ago. She didn’t touch the little creature, thinking that its mother would most probably be nearby. But the kitten’s cry was heard throughout the day and in the evening. Brittany decided to visit the newborn kitten again. The baby was still alone and was crying quietly from hunger. The woman couldn’t leave it outside and took it home.

Her dog, Ruby, had just given birth to her third puppy and was now nursing them. They were only slightly older than the kitten. Brittany was afraid from the Doberman’s reaction, but the dog wasn’t aggressive with the little creature. At first, Ruby just watched the kitten, then sniffed and began to lick.

The hostess realized that the dog accepted the found kitten, when she turned around to let the kitten eat. Ruby’s puppies also didn’t see any difference between them and the newborn kitten. The dog had already taken care of babies of other animals a couple of times – rabbits and guinea pigs, so now there was no need to worry about baby Rose.

Mrs. Callan shared touching photos of the first acquaintance of Ruby and her adopted “daughter”. In the comments, she told that the baby rarely managed to eat dog milk, so more often she had to give her nutritional mixtures. Ruby is also always ready to give her attention and maternal affection. The kitten falls asleep in the close circle of puppies, surely, under the supervision of their mother.

After a few weeks, the grown-up cubs were already chasing each other. Compared to the large puppies (more than 2kg), Rose was small and fragile. Caring Ruby, however, is always on the alert. She would delicately snatch the “youngest” out from under the boots so that she would not be trampled.

The grown-up kitten feels great in the Doberman family. In a few weeks, Brittany’s relative will take Rose. The woman, watching the awesome pet, worries that the dog may miss her adopted “daughter”. She still treats her with care and affection.

Brittany shared this story to show, that a frightening and fearless guide may also be a loving, gentle and caring friend.
