On November 21, 2021, the star of the films Overboard, Bird on a Wire, Death Becomes Her turned 76 years old. Looking at her – energetic, positive, successful and happy – it may seem that she has an easy life and lives with a wide smile. That’s however, not it. Goldie had ups and downs, gains and losses, good, as well as sorrowful times…So how did she manage to build her happiness?
Goldie Hawn was born in a prosperous and quite wealthy family. Her father was a musician and mother owned a jewelry shop. The girl has been surrounded by art and beauty since childhood. She grew up an active and bright child. Nature hasn’t stinted on huge blue eyes and blond hair.
Since childhood, Hawn has been engaged in chorography and dreamed of big stages. She appeared there still as a kid and wanted to dance forever. For a period of time, she even performed in New York theaters. Goldie, however, entered theatrical university to study. She didn’t stay a student for long, she was expelled because of absences. She had to often miss her lectures because of touring.
Oscar at The Beginning of Career
However, the expulsion from university didn’t stand on her way to build a brilliant career in film industry. By that time, she had already been noticed by film managers.
At her 20s, Goldie started getting invitations to TV and started playin in TV series. In 1969, the movie Cactus Flower was released, where she played a supportive role. And the beginner actress got an Oscar and a Golden Globe at once. Later, she was 7 times nominated for Golden Globe and twice for Oscar, but other actresses were awarded.
In the 1970s, she received many job offers. She played in the movies Butterflies Are Free, The Girl from Petrovka, The Sugarland Express, Shampoo, and others. The artist’s payment was growing rapidly.

In this period, Goldie Hawn got first married. In 1969, she married actor Gus Trikonis. Their marriage lasted for over 10 years, and ended with a bitter divorce.
Goldie has always put love and family first in the chain of life values. But her first marriage turned into a fiasco. After the divorce, Triconis behaved unmanly and sued his successful ex-wife for a decent part of the property and hundreds of thousands of dollars.
After the divorce in 1976, Hawn made another attempt to achieve family happiness, and married musician Bill Hudson. However, this time too she was in for a great disappointment. Her only consolation were her son Oliver and daughter Kate, who later became famous artists too.
The second spouse during the divorce took away from the actress a luxurious mansion in Malibu. After breaking up with her second husband, Goldie was hostile and wary of men. Of course, the famous and attractive “golden” actress was surrounded with dozens of fans. She had affairs, however she never wanted to start serious relationships with anyone, completely giving herself to children.
Love Named Kurt
In the early 1980s, the second wave of Goldie’s success came. A few years before, being busy with divorces and the division of property with her husbands, she played in films, but less. In 1980, two projects with her participation were released at once (Private Benjamin and Seems Like Old Times). For each of the films she received millions of dollars. Hawn earned 2,5 million dollars for the role of Paula McCullen in the 1982 film Best Friends. That time she began an affair with handsome Kurt Russell (Backdraft, Interstate 60, Tango & Cash). They had known each other for many years. First time they met each other on set, when Kurt was only 16, and she was 22. Then they broke up: they both had a career and marriages that ended in divorce.
Having met in a difficult period for both of them, Kurt and Goldie became a consolation for each other. In 1983, they started living together. The couple has been together for already 40 years, but never married officially. However, this doesn’t interfere with their lasting and sincere happiness.

Goldie Hawn’s children recognized her lover as their father. Year by year, their relationships are getting even stronger. In 1986, Kurt and Goldie had a son – Wyatt – who also became an artist. Russel has another son from his first marriage – Boston.
In 1987, the comedy Overboard was released, where Kurt and Goldie played lovers.
It’s amazing, that for many years the actors hadn’t watched the film from beginning to end. And only in 2015, they took the time and, snuggling up to each other, watched the film.
Fathers and Children
Everyone in the family of Goldie and Kurt lived happily. The children called the actor their father. Kate Hudson once even admitted that she valued Russel more than her biological father. Hawn has repeatedly said that her love for the chosen one became even stronger after she saw his attitude towards her children. The actress, in turn, established good relations with Boston Russell.
After building their family, the actors agreed that family comes first, and since then they haven’t parted for long. When one of them was on set, the other should stay with children.
Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn’s children also became celebrities. However, Boston appeared only in an episode of the TV series 60 Minutes. Kate Hudson, winner of the Golden Globe for the film Almost Famous, starred in the projects The Skeleton Key, Marshall, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, and many others.
Oliver Hudson acted in the films Dawson’s Creek, Nashville, The Christmas Chronicles and others. In 2002, the People magazine included him in the list of 50 most beautiful people in the world.

Grandparents
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are still in demand actors, but they now devote most of their lives to their numerous grandchildren. Goldie often shows on her Instagram how she has fun with the kids.
Hawn and Russel travel a lot, do sports and are arranging their remote ranch. In a word, happy Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell live to the fullest, as they did 40 years ago.
