The attention and care of kind people created a real miracle
Do you think that only a mongrel can be thrown out on the street? Alas, having “played enough” with a living being, people throw out purebred pets. This golden retriever’s name was Goldie, and the previous owners abandoned him.
The dog was left to himself and wandered the streets in search of food. Goldie did not find support among his relatives either. Stray dogs disliked him and fought him more than once. Goldie was afraid of any rustle and lived hiding behind a barn, occasionally coming out of his hiding place.
Volunteers found the exhausted and frightened dog. It took a while to catch the dog. He was unsociable and did not leave his shelter. Animal rights activists had to go to tricks to get Goldie to the shelter. But the difficulties did not end there.
The retriever needed weeks for treatment and rehabilitation, because for many months of wandering his body was extremely exhausted. Things were even more complicated with the mental health of the dog. He was not used to being treated well and did not trust his rescuers.
Dogs who have faced bullying, sometimes remain closed and show aggression for the rest of their lives. But Goldie, despite his difficult fate, loved people very much and wanted to be with them. For a long time he was terrified of any touch, but every day he flourished more and more and made contact with people.
When the dog completely stopped being afraid of people and learned good manners, volunteers began to look for a new home for him. And soon they found it. He was taken away by a loving family who already had a pet.
The new owners named the retriever Dakota. He quickly settled into his new home, fell in love with all the family members and found an older friend. The attention and care of kind people has created a real miracle. Now the dog is happy and trusts this world again!
