Passers-by in a park in Santa Barbara, California, noticed that a pit bull terrier dog was sitting on one of the benches. Someone just tied the animal’s leash to a bench and left. The dog was trembling with fear. Moreover, the unfortunate animal was blind.
Someone contacted an animal shelter. Those, in their turn, took the dog to the vet. It turned out that Paulie (the so-called pit bull) had a whole bunch of diseases. Firstly, the dog was exhausted. Secondly, she had ringworm. Also, Paulie’s lymph nodes were swollen, and she had a sick heart.
Doctors established that Paulie was only three years old, and she was blind from birth. In addition, during the examination of the pit bull, it was found that she had recently become a mother. It’s unknown where her puppies were. Most likely, the former owner of Paulie sold them.
The dog needs heart surgery. It costs about 25-30 thousand dollars. In addition, the animal needs an ophthalmologist. The shelter staff even created a special page for the dog on a crowdfunding charity website. At the moment, more than thirteen thousand dollars have been donated to help Paulie.
The shelter staff say that Paulie is very nice and friendly. They are very worried about her health. After the animal recovers, people hope that they will be able to find loving owners for her.
