Lucky tourist managed to photograph an albino elephant

Albinism is an even rarer disease among animals

It is said that only 1 mammal out of 10,000 newborns is born an albino. Albinism is even rarer among animals, so any such case is well documented by scientists.

However, there are still albino animals that are not known to the world yet. Simply because they usually hide in their herd.

Nicky Curtis was in his African safari tour where he was lucky enough to notice and even take a photo of a baby albino elephant.

First, Nicky noticed the herd of elephants. After taking a closer look, he noticed something special. It was a little pink elephant – an albino elephant that no one had ever seen before.

Tolerance is not common among animals in the wild. So, in such cases, animals usually do not accept newly born cubs with albinism. As a result, they get killed or expelled from the herd. But this little elephant seems to be surrounded by loving and caring adults.

An interesting fact is that, unlike humans, in animals albinism is inherited.
