Reunion of a mother orangutan with her baby

Mothers only want their children to be safe and healthy

Clara is a female orangutan. Recently, she has given birth to her baby Clarita.

There is a survival fund of the Borneo Orangutan in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The baby orangutan was born in that shelter. However, soon the baby surprisingly disappeared from her cage. The shelter is located in the middle of a forest, where there are no poachers. Still, the shelter staff decided to look everywhere for the baby orangutan.

After some search, they found Clarita in the cage of Rizki. The latter is a 14-year-old orangutan.

The staff was afraid of Rizki but wanted to return the baby. Mother orangutans usually reject and attack their cubs if they think that the cub has little chance of survival.

Finally, the workers managed to take Clarita out of Rizki’s cage. At first, Clara was surprised, but soon she recognized her baby and hugged her tightly.

Mothers only want their children to be safe and healthy. Hope that Clara and Clarita will never get separated again.
