“My Last Show as an Actress”: Christina Applegate announced her terrible diagnosis

The actress is putting her acting career on hold because of health problems

Talented actress and “Friends” star Christina Applegate made an impressive red carpet appearance at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California. Christina wore a black velvet tuxedo-style gown with satin lapels and a train to the event.

The actress was accompanied by her daughter Sadie, who matched her outfit with her mother. The young lady appeared fashionable and very attractive. She was wearing a shirt, long blazer and jeans complemented with a newspaper cap and Dr. Martens leather boots.

Applegate was using a cane to walk, emblazoned with her daughter’s name and a heart. The actress had her only child in her romance with musician Martyn Lenoble. They got married in 2013. Sadie was gently holding her mom’s hand while posing for the cameras on the red carpet.

The actress was nominated for her part in the comedy series “Dead to Me”. She is playing a cynical widow named Jen Harding.

On the same day, Christina declared that she was putting her acting career on hold because of some health problems. In , the actress was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. “This is probable my last prize as an actress, and this show means a lot to me. Right now I can’t even imagine waking up at 5a.m. every day and spending 12-14 hours on set”, noted Applegate.

The actress also mentioned that she is now doing some voice-over job to make some money and provide for her daughter and her family.

It was a real “bummer every day” for Christina when she starred the project’s final season, while fighting multiple sclerosis symptoms.

The filming had to take a 5-month break to let the actress receive a proper treatment. The project started in January, 2022, and ended in February. She needed a wheelchair and a cane, and she was assisted every time she needed to stand. During the filming, many times the actress had to take breaks, and the whole staff was relieved when everything finished safely.

In 2008, Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had to undergo several surgeries, remove both mammary glands and eventually have implants. In 2017, she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed due to a BRCA1 gene mutation, which might have caused the ovarian cancer.

In November, Christina Applegate was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
