“I am really, really sorry!”: Whoopi Goldberg apologized for use of derogatory word derived from pejorative term for Romani people

“I should have thought about it a little longer before I said it!”

Whoopi Goldberg publicly apologized for the disrespectful term she used on Wednesday on The View. The expression was derived from an old and disrespectful term for the Roma people. The expression used to be a common synonym for cheated or deceived.

Goldberg shared a video on her Twitter account, saying that she didn’t realize she was using a disrespectful expression at that moment.

The accident happened during the discussion about Donald Trump and Stormy Daniels. As it was a live broadcast, the word was not bleeped out.
